In movies such as “ THE WAR OF THE WORLDS ”, “ PREDATOR
” and “ INDEPENDENCE DAY “ aliens
are shown as world dominating evil and admittedly , scary figures whose sole
aims seem to be those of destruction and despair. However in movies such as “ E.T ” , “ COCOON ” and “ CONE HEADS
” aliens are shown as peaceful and mostly friendly beings. But as the years
went by aliens became more evil, hideous and blood thirsty, until we were left
with the, more recent, remake of “ THE
WAR OF THE WORLDS ” which was in a word: FRIGHTENING.
Even
so aliens are a very popular topic for discussion in the world at large. Even
in Pakistan, a vast community of people take interest in the possibility of
life outside Earth.
Alien sightings, however, were always another
matter; controversy myth blending together, forming a dull and glazed picture
based on the unclear graphic of video and the raving of UFO watchers and internet
addicts. These videos of supposed aliens have, for some reasons, only been
viewed in the United States and Britain.
However, the purpose of this article is not
to understand the intent of the aliens but for you, the readers, to believe in
them.

Some
months ago, I interviewed a man living in Islamabad who also claimed he had
seen UFO’s at numerous points in his life. He had some interesting stories to
tell, ones that led me to write article and believe. Believe that we are not
alone. The man was lounging in his front lawn after sunset in September 1997,
smoking. It was gradually getting darker, the red , the hot end of the cigarette
was glowing in the dark evening.
Suddenly, he saw a light in the distance, over the Margalla Hills. It was a glowing orb, a ball of white, pulsating light which glowed in the surrounding area. And as the man watched he felt a deep throb in his ears, seemingly coming form the orb. He ran inside and called his family so they might see this phenomenon for themselves. His family rushed outside and so, they too saw it. They gazed at it for a moment or so, feeling the throb in their ears and seeing it pulsate in the night. Then as if the throb has sensed something in zoomed away, at a speed, that the man had never seen before. He immediately called the local newspaper services. However the next morning he learned that in the same night the Pakistan was attacked by the other country. But the man knew that the speed, with which the orb had gone, could never be achieved by man or missile. And he never saw it again.

In another incident another informant
was at the foothills of the Murdar Range, in the Quetta Cantonment when he saw
a dark figure zoom into a nearby barrage. It literally came from the skies.
However this was much more unbelievable than the sighting explained earlier.
Perhaps it was an aeroplane? Unlikely, but believable. Now I’m going to stray from
the experience of my friend and relate a story of my own. It was in Islamabad, early evening when I was
enjoying a walk in my garden. The sun was sinking but everything could still be
seen clearly. Then in the maroon sky, I saw a black speck which was turning in
an unwavering circle. So precisely did it move that I knew this could not be an
aeroplane. No amount of dexterity could have enabled a person to do such a
thing. It rotated there for an hour before vanishing. So much precision could
only have been achieved with the help of high level of technology.
Many
questions come into our minds when we talk about the life or the creatures on
the other planet. Whatever, your opinion or belief, remember how huge the
Universe is.
Surely, somewhere,
somehow, there must be someone else. Some type of sentient being. Some type of
proof. Proof, that we are not alone. I
